How exactly will ATV service manuals save you money? If you have had your ATV in the shop lately, you know how much repairs cost today. Your wallet will be so much lighter, you can almost float out of the shop!
All I'm saying is there are a lot of service and repair jobs you could do yourself with a good four wheeler service manual and some basic tools. And keep your money in your wallet where it belongs. So you can spend it on other stuff - like gas to ride.

Factory Workshop Manual - Most expensive and most detailed. Factory manuals cover every component on your ATV. Even the ones you didn't know it had! Since they're written for factory trained mechanics, there isn't a lot of space wasted explaining the basics.
Since these are put out by the manufacturers, they will usually include all models and options, along with updated TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins). If you want to know how to work on any part of your ATV, these are the way to go.
They can also keep you from taking on jobs you really shouldn't since they will tell you where special tools are required to complete a repair.
Clymer Repair Manual
"Unlike Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals, Clymer repair manuals are written specifically for the do-it-yourselfer.
OEM manuals are purposely designed for the professional
technician, who often has at their disposal an impressive array of
specialized tools, equipment and knowledge.
During the production of a Clymer manual, we completely
disassemble and reassemble the models covered in each book and provide
easy-to-follow instructions.
This allows Clymer manual users to safely and efficiently
service and repair the ATV -- in a real setting -- not the ideal setting
of a fully equipped professional shop. It is this very experience that
sets a Clymer repair manual apart from its factory counterparts".
That's a quote directly from the folks at Clymer. I can't argue with anything they said. I have used them myself and always felt I got more than my money's worth.
Haynes Repair Manual
"What sets Haynes Manuals apart is the attention to detail that goes into the production of each book. Every manual is written from hands-on experience based on a complete teardown, which is the step-by-step procedure of dismantling a particular ATV part-by-part.
This is followed by the detailed rebuilding of the specific model it documents. Writing each manual takes 30 man-weeks, with authors working as teams to shorten the production time and avoid fatigue during the difficult process. Hundreds of photographs accompany each manual's step-by-step instructions.
The books are written from the actual experience of Haynes' own expert personnel using only a basic set of tools and presented in a style that any DIYer can follow, even a beginner. The DIYer can save a great deal of time and money, not to mention feeling proud of the job, by using a Haynes book".
Yep, that quote is from the team at Haynes. I've used them also and have never been disappointed with the quality or accuracy. Just a couple of points - both the Clymer and Haynes atv service manuals stress they're written for the DIYer and will save you money.
Guess it's time to dust off the old tool box and get started. "Hand me that phillips screwdriver over there, will ya."
